Terms and Conditions

This is a convenience translation of our German-language Terms and Conditions. In case of any discrepancy, the German version at /de/terms is authoritative, and German law governs per section 9.
1. Scope
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Barra Networks platform by accepted members. Membership is open exclusively to individuals aged 18 or older.
2. Membership and Formation of Contract
Membership is curated: access is granted only after a successful application review and activation by Barra Networks. There is no entitlement to be accepted. The usage agreement for the free basic membership is formed when the account is activated and a password is set. For a paid membership, the contract is only formed upon completing the payment process in the member area (/app/membership) — the prices and features shown there must be reviewed and confirmed before payment.
3. Costs
During the seed-up phase, membership is free. Once the founding cohort is full, a permanently discounted price applies to Founding Members, and the regular price applies to all members joining afterward — the current pricing is shown on the membership page. Paid memberships renew automatically for the chosen billing period (monthly or yearly) unless cancelled beforehand. Consumers additionally have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal when entering into a paid membership, see section 7a.
4. Member Obligations
Members commit to respectful, truthful conduct and to complying with the community guidelines. Commitments to events and buddy meetings must be honored or cancelled in good time.
5. Moderation and Exclusion
In case of violations of the community guidelines, Barra Networks may remove content, warn members, temporarily suspend, or permanently exclude them.
6. Liability
Barra Networks is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, as well as for injury to life, body, or health. For slightly negligent breaches of material contractual obligations (cardinal duties), liability is limited to the damage typically foreseeable for this type of contract; liability for slight negligence is otherwise excluded. Barra Networks is not liable for content posted by members, provided it had no knowledge of any legal violation. Participation in facilitated in-person meetups, sport sessions, and events is at each member's own responsibility — every member is responsible for assessing their own health and fitness for an activity. Provisions of German product liability law remain unaffected.
7. Cancellation
Members can end their membership at any time via an always-accessible cancellation button in account settings (§ 312k BGB, German Civil Code). Cancelling a paid membership takes effect at the end of the current billing period; access remains until then. Barra Networks may terminate memberships without notice for serious or repeated violations.
7a. Right of Withdrawal for Paid Memberships
If you, as a consumer, enter into a paid membership, you have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal — independent of the regular cancellation option under section 7. The full withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form are available at /widerrufsrecht.
8. Changes
Barra Networks reserves the right to amend these Terms with reasonable notice of at least 6 weeks in text form (e.g. by email). If a member does not object within 6 weeks of receiving the change notice, this is considered acceptance; the change notice will specifically point out this right to object and the significance of not responding. In case of objection, an extraordinary right of cancellation applies.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country where a consumer has their habitual residence remain unaffected. If the member is a merchant, a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Barra Networks' registered seat.
